What We Do

What We do

At Centre for Development and Enterprises Rwanda, our programs are designed to reduce barriers to entrepreneurship and strengthen Rwanda’s private sector through inclusive and pro-market solutions.

What We Do

01.

— Business Formalization & Registration Support

Many entrepreneurs operate informally due to complex procedures and limited access to information. CDE Rwanda works to simplify business registration processes and promote formal participation in the economy.

Through advocacy and reform efforts, we have contributed to enabling thousands of entrepreneurs — particularly women — to legally register and grow their businesses.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Simplifying business registration procedures

  • Reducing bureaucratic barriers

  • Raising awareness about the benefits of formalization

  • Promoting access to formal markets

02.

— Women & Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment

Women and youth are critical drivers of Rwanda’s economic transformation. CDE Rwanda promotes inclusive entrepreneurship by addressing structural, informational, and policy barriers that limit their participation.

We focus on:

  • Supporting women- and youth-led enterprises

  • Encouraging formal business participation

  • Promoting equal access to economic opportunities

  • Strengthening inclusion within the private sector

By empowering women and young entrepreneurs, we contribute to job creation, income growth, and long-term economic resilience.

03.

— Policy Advocacy & Pro-Market Reform

A strong private sector depends on an enabling regulatory environment. CDE Rwanda works with stakeholders to advocate for reforms that support entrepreneurship and economic freedom.

We advocate for:

  • Reduced administrative and regulatory burdens

  • Efficient and transparent registration systems

  • Pro-market economic policies

  • Improved ease of doing business

Our policy engagement ensures that Rwanda’s business environment remains competitive, inclusive, and growth-oriented.
